HIGHEST PV MODULE DENSITY

Opsun SunRail™ East-West configuration allows fitting the highest PV module count on a roof, significantly increasing the W/sq foot ratio. Perfect fit for projects where local incentives are based on DC sizing and not on energy generation.

LOWEST BALLAST REQUIREMENT

With the PV modules orientated East and West acting as a wind deflector, coupled with Opsun’s extra strong rail-base racking system, this configuration allows for the lowest ballast requirement on the market. If you need a super light solar system, Opsun SunRail™ is the product you need.

SAVE ON INSTALLATION COST

Coming as 25 FT long rails with all components pre-assembled, Opsun SunRail™ racking system is the fastest to deploy on the roof. It allows saving 20% to 30% of the time you would need to install standard PV support systems. Less time on the roof, faster project delivery and commisionning make solar projects much more profitable.

Fewer ballasts and anchors per PV

The solidity of our racks help distributes the wind loads on larger surfaces, thus reducing the number of ballasts or anchors required. For anchored projects, we typically will require less than 1 anchor per 2-3 PVs.

Full Aluminum Design

Rail-based design with 6000 series aluminum and 304 stainless steel bolts and nuts guarantee maximum durability of the structure for decades.

Perfectly Safe for the roof

Racking system comes with grooved 4ft rubber pads that allow water flow, and reduces points loads, due to continuous North-South rails. Recycled rubber pads protect the roof without sacrificial membrane.

Fully Adjustable System On-Site

All components can be slid in the rails' channels, to adjust for roof unevenness. System will follow roof's drains, crikets and tapered insulation with ease.

Better Panel Protection

Strong rails supporting PVs on their full length help prevent torsion and movement that leads to accelerated degradation of PV panels

Highest Standard for Engineering & Support

Our engineers use only the safest methods of calculation, to assure maximum solidity and durability of the structures. We have proprietary, recent wind tunnel tests with Western University, and we design using the latest Building Codes (ASCE-7-16, NBCC 2016, IBC 2018), as well as SEAOC PV2 notions of array size versus roof size to account for extraordinary vortices. Minimal deflection allowed on rails, and finite element analysis done with high-end 3D engineering software. Each zone ballast & anchors calculated individually. We find solutions to each unique challenge, and we react quickly if unforeseen events happen during construction (such as unmarked drains, roof equipments obstruction and last-minute changes).

ject-Specific Building Permit Plans & P.Eng stamp with each project

Custom, project-specific building permit plans, stamped by a local P. Eng., are provided for each job, describing step-by-step where each component goes, on the exact project site, with markups, details and explanations custom to each project's specific difficulties.
